It did not take long for me to notice that there was something special about the new Skin-so-Soft. It started with a couple orders which is normal with new products, then quickly increased to multiple orders, orders for friends and repeat customers. I had to find out what it was about the Satin Glow Absolute Glow Gel that my customers were aware of that I had not yet discovered.
I took the opportunity to ask a customer about the Gel when ordering a second bottle for a friend within days of receiving her own. What was so remarkable about this Gel? Her response surprised me when she said that after using the Gel for only a couple of days on her legs, her friends were asking her how they too could get the same sun-kissed glow. Now I remember way back in elementary school when the grade-8 girls decided to use self-tanner for their grad photos and they ended up with the complexion of an Oompa loompa, so I’ve always shied away from self-tanners. But when it came time to enter the friend’s order for the Gel, I decided that I needed to give the Gel a try for myself as well.
It’s been a week and a half now and I too am pleased with the results of the Skin-so-soft Satin Glow Absolute Glow Gel. Initially I used on my legs just to see what type of results it would yield and within 2 days of using the product once daily I was seeing darkening colour on my legs. And it wasn’t orange!! I’ve been using on my arms, shoulders and chest now as well and found the same pretty glowing results within days of starting my first application. And the colour is nice and even without any streaking. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who like me desires that tanned complexion but without all the harmful effects of a true sun-produced tan. I think that perhaps there is a limit to how dark my skin will get with this product, for example it will not make my skin a natural mocha colour, but it definitely has provided a soft natural brownish tanned look like I have been sitting in the sun for a few hours.
Some additional comments
While the fresh fragrance is a nice touch, remember that the product is a gel and takes longer for the skin to absorb than a cream. If you’re like me and a little impatient when it comes to your skin absorbing the gel, it can be a little annoying feeling the wet gel against your clothes. On a positive note, however, even though the gel has made contact with my clothes it is not causing discolouration when coming into contact with fabrics like some other self-tanners. Another important point to remember is that different parts of your body will absorb the gel faster than others and produce different results. For example, while I have been using the product on my legs since it arrived a week and a half ago, my arms are darker than my legs. This is because the skin on your arms is less of a surface area and will absorb faster than your legs. At the same time, I’ve been using the gel on the tops of my ankles and feet to mimic the true look of a sun-produced tan, but the area on your feet and ankle will react similar to your arms and absorb faster than your legs. So I’ve had to slow down my application in these areas to prevent the sudden difference in colour between my legs and ankles and feet.
If you’re looking for a natural looking healthy sun-kissed glow then give the Skin-so-Soft Satin Glow Absolute Glow Gel (221-708) a try.
